Overview: The Yandi Pocket Billiards South project. Scope of works included the construction of a 24-barrel culvert floodway over the Willy Wally Creek.

Our Role: Headwall construction of both the inlet and outlet of the floodway.

Value add/Innovation: (FRP) Forming, reinforcing, and pouring concrete on the head walls of 24 x 2.4m bevelled helical corrugated steel pipes (CSP) was an intricate process. It involved creating custom formwork and steel reinforcement to match the bevelled ends of pipes. Working at heights posed it’s own challenges also but our team completed it safely and efficiently. Once the formwork and reinforcement were set, concrete was poured in layers to prevent voids and ensure proper consolidation. Our team incorporating specialised vibration techniques to ensure the concrete seamlessly encapsulated the bevelled helical CSP pipes. Adequate curing was essential for strength development, and post-curing treatments were applied. This process required meticulous planning, skilled labour, and careful coordination to achieve durable and structurally sound head walls for the CSP pipes.
